Ohio Department of Education Updates & FAQ / Information

To parents and students of the High School

Dear C-TEC parent(s)/guardian(s)-

I wanted to reach out to you with some updates and additional information as this extended closure of school buildings continues.  In his press conference on March 30th, Governor DeWine extended the school closure until May 1st. Since we will not be seeing the students for a while I wanted to share some additional information with you.

First off, the fourth and final nine weeks of the year started Monday March 30th.

Instructors have been reaching out to students, and I encourage you to make sure that contact with your student’s instructors is maintained on a regular basis. If you need to find additional contact information for a C-TEC staff member you can find our staff email directory here on the website under "About C-TEC". If you don’t know someone's name, you can type job titles and that will aid you. If you are looking for an administrator you can type in “director” and all directors will populate. If you are looking for an English teacher, type “English” and all of our English instructors will populate, and so on.

Many of our staff have shared phone numbers with you, but if you don't have contact information you can also contact staff by calling 740.364.2832 and leaving a message with information on the best time to return a call. We will forward that message to the instructor. Keep in mind that the call back will come from a blocked number, so please answer.

If you do not have internet access, there is the option of contacting Spectrum for free service during this closure. They can be reached at 1-844-488-8395. If your student does not have a device on which to do school work and needs one please call 740-364-2832 and leave a message and we will arrange a time for one to be picked up at the school. If there are additional issues with instruction please reach out to the appropriate instructor.

State testing has been canceled for the 2019-2020 school year. We continue to wait upon guidance from the Ohio Department of Education and will share the information as soon as possible. We have also been asked many questions about credentials and we simply do not have the answers at this time. As soon as we do, we will be sharing that information with you.

If your student has special needs and/or requires accommodations, we are continuing to serve your student in the manner needed. Our general education teachers and intervention staff have been reaching out to you and your student to support their learning and progress.  They will continue to do so in order to serve their needs as best as the current situation allows. Please do not hesitate to contact teachers, intervention staff and/or the Special Needs Coordinator if you have any concerns.

As we continue down this unknown road it is imperative that you help us keep your students focused on normalcy and continuing to work on their education. We are all in uncharted waters here, but I have been impressed with how well our staff and students have worked together to adapt to these new circumstances. I appreciate their efforts, and yours!

I am sure we will have more information to share in the near future. You can always stay up to date by keeping an eye on our website, and by our social media. We will share any new information there, as well as our usual methods of contact. Until then, please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Thank you and stay safe.

About Us

The majority of tomorrow’s jobs will require people to have technical training. Many careers require some post-secondary education or college, but not necessarily a traditional, four-year college degree. The technical curriculum at C-TEC's high school directly prepares students to enter the workforce AND a two or four-year college degree program.

Many adults want to upgrade their skills and credentials faster, better, and cheaper.  Many employers want the same for their workers and they want it around the clock.  C-TEC’s Adult Education Center provides all of that along with superior customer service.

At C-TEC we help our students make successful transitions, regardless of their stage in life. Our mission is clear: to...”provide all learners with academic and technical skills needed for career opportunities and continuous learning.”
